Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can a person at any age receive the Johnson Y-Axis Manual Decompression Ring Dinger® treatment?
No. At this office the treatment is not performed on individuals under the age of 18 or over the age of 65.
Do you accept health insurance?
We do not bill or process any form of health insurance, including personal injury claims, auto accident cases, or workers’ compensation. Payment is due in full at the conclusion of each visit.
Upon request, we can provide a detailed receipt that may be submitted to your insurance provider. Please note that any reimbursement is solely based on your individual policy and is outside our control.
Is Johnson Y-Axis Manual Decompression Ring Dinger® suitable for every patient?
Not all patients are candidates for this adjustment and we do not accept every case that comes in. Dr. Amonette performs a comprehensive consultation, history, and examination before determining whether the Y-Axis Manual Decompression is clinically appropriate. Acceptance for treatment is not guaranteed.
Safety and clinical judgment guide all care decisions, and each case is evaluated individually.
What are some reasons someone might not qualify for treatment?
A number of medical conditions may disqualify a patient, including but not limited to: history of stroke, cardiovascular stents, cancer, DISH (Diffuse Idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis), Ankylosing Spondylitis, advanced atherosclerosis, spinal fusions or implants, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Marfan syndrome, Loeys-Dietz syndrome, osteogenesis imperfecta, Stickler syndrome, clotting disorders, and severe osteoporosis.
Do you treat patients with spinal hardware?
No. We do not provide treatment to individuals who have undergone spinal fusion, disc replacement, or who have implanted spinal stimulators or similar hardware.
How many visits will I need?
It is impossible to determine how many visits will be requried and there is no promise to cure. The number of visits is determined following a full history and examination. Each patient receives a personalized care plan based on their specific condition and goals.
Most patients are recommended to receive 3-6 treatments depending on the case.
During your initial consultation, Dr. Amonette will review your findings, explain the care plan, and answer any questions you may have. Our focus is on effective, efficient, and personalized care.
Do you offer ongoing or maintenance care?
We believe in an individualized approach to follow-up and wellness care. This is recommended on a customized basis and most patients can feel and see in their posture when they are due for a Johnson Y-Axis Ring Dinger adjustment. We recommend the patients also follow a core strengthening and postural corrective program for ongoing wellness.
Some individuals prefer periodic check-ups as part of their overall health strategy. Annual or occasional wellness visits are common among those seeking preventive care or long-term spinal health.
What is the cost of treatment?
The initial visit is $400 and includes consultation, history, examination, and treatment. Follow-up visits are $250 and include re-examination and adjustment. If a patient is not accepted for care after the initial history and examination, only the evaluation will be charged at $150.
